Shields supports meaningful and engaged learning for all students. Shields strives to provide each child with a rigorous, differentiated academic experience while also addressing the Social/Emotional needs of our students. Programs such as Think Through Math and Compass Learning provide students with adaptive learning experiences through technology. Shields partners with the University of Illlinois, Brighton Park Neighborhood Council, and Hubbard Street Dance to provide after school and enrichment programs for all students. The school has expanded it's Art curriculum to offer visual arts, music and drama to our student body
